Full Description

A universal light weight rope for climbing in alpine or crag conditions. With the new and highly efficient Advanced Shield treatment the Eagle has the perfect protection for wet or dirty conditions. For fast alpine ascents where snow or rain can be expected or a warm sunny day at the crag, the Eagle fulfills the task with honors. Thermal Stabilization handling coupled with the Advanced Shield helps provide the excellent handling and very robust sheath with an amazingly low weight of 62 g per meter. Edelrid’s Advanced Shield rope treatment is a hydro and oleo phobic fluorocarbon based coating. This special treatment is applied to each individual fiber of the rope providing long lasting and best all-round protection against wet and dirty conditions. Edelrid has been using a Thermal Stabilization process for more than 20 years. The Thermal Stabilization is one of the main processes that give their ropes their pleasant soft touch and easy handling. As the name implies the yarns in the core and sheath undergo a heat treatment cure to stabilize and harmonize the individual yarns. This cannot be removed or washed out and ensures a longer lifespan for the ropes. Specs : 62 g/m, 34% sheath proportion, 7-8 UIAA falls, 9.4 kN impact force, 34% dynamic elongation, 7.6% static elongation, 0% sheath slippage, middle marked

I’ve been through several ropes of different brands. This is my first Edelrid, and it’s perhaps the best rope I’ve used so far. It’s got a really nice feel to it, feeds well, clips well. It’s light and so far very durable. Really a great rope.
